I am not against NGOs as a concept… I do have an issue with how they currently act. If they want to claim legitimacy within the left, they need to break away from the mainstream, and their actions need to match their language.
The concept of free association - sure, who could argue with that. That's the entire trick, like anything else in capitalism "civil society" is privatized in billionaire owned reactionary centers of disseminating cultural hegemony. by labeling as "Marxist" some outlandish claims like "man can give birth" those private capitalist propaganda machines managed two simultaneous blows: a. make "Marxism" sound like a lunatics cult and b. capture and divert any genuine social revolt in sterile meme wars
