The term “antisemitism” has long been politically stretched to silence criticism of “Israel,” turning legitimate anti-colonial speech into manufactured “hate” to shield the “Israeli” regime’s crimes.
One crazy fact is that our government here in the Netherlands literally *officially* defers to the IHRA definition of antisemitism, making it the only subtype of hatespeech to have this special treatment; which is really bizarre if you think about it, a government literally just deferring major decision-making to an institute that is not just from another country but explicitly part of that country's lobby essentially.. The excuse they keep using is that it's not codified into law, but the Dutch parliament literally reaffirmed on multiple occasions now through passed motions that the official government position on what should be counted as antisemitism is literally directly the IHRA's definition, so they might as well have codified it into law.. and as you correctly pointed out the IHRA's definition is deeply flawed in favor of zi0nism.. and that's only one of the at least three seperare government decisions in favor of explicit zi0nist censorship in the Netherlands, since the recent ongoing g&za g*nocide and destruction campaign started. Also, in my personal experience from living here and the political situation of the past few years here specifically, there is a bit of added weirdness about this whole topic that complicates things; though I don't mean that in disagreement to this post/article 🙏 I might write about it and return at some point
