Kiev's most recent attempt to drag Belarus into the NATO-Russia proxy conflict involves yet another strike on civilians, this time on a children's football team.
Only kind of related, but would be curious about a measured ML take on modern Belarus. I have heard from various sources that it is an example of post-Soviet degradation into a capitalist state *and* that it is an example of continued adaptive communism a la China/Vietnam. I think it's inarguable that it is an anti-imperialist state sort of by definition, but Lukashenko's regime is a bit of a puzzle to me.
I'm not sure I know enough about Belarus' material conditions to comment substantially on it as a state, but I do view Lukashenko relatively positively.
From what I recall, he supports China (and BRI), DPRK, etc. and opposed NATO in Libya. I think it was Venezuela's Chávez who spoke of him positively in the past as well. (He's also quite funny, though that's besides the point.)
