Part of the problem with the white leftist is, they aren’t just colonial they are settlers dreaming of revolutions. They will never have on land they stole and doesn’t belong to them anyway.

Precisely… I think that a lot of WWLs forget that they themselves are on stolen land, or they just see it as something “so far in the past it doesn’t matter anymore,” regardless of the fact that material conditions have not improved in many Indigenous communities. It’s almost ironic that they’re against settler-colonialism in occupied Palestine while simultaneously ignoring their own active contributions to it where they reside.

Being indigenous it doesn’t feel ironic it feels insulting

You're spot on, without intersectional and international solidarity WWL's are just class conscious liberals in effect. Even with aforementioned solidarity reaping of the imperial spoils happens and results in a comfortable position of relative safety compared to what's possible in the global South and for bipoc nieghbors. This safety or fear of being uncomfortable rather results in taking the easier and less effective path. I suppose it's on a person to person bases but education of these things are available with enough digging thanks to the internet which makes me feel like it's more of a conscious liberal like choice than bad luck with research.

Oh absolutely, I think that “class-conscious liberal” is a good way to describe them. And I think I’ve mentioned before that “solidarity” doesn’t mean anything if it’s not backed up with tangible action… this seems to be most visible in pro-Palestine movements that simultaneously condemn Iran, Hamas, etc. It’s support for an oppressed group, but only in theory. Adjacent to this, they often also tend to see states with mixed-model economies as “socialist havens” while condemning all AES states as “authoritarian dictatorships” (which, frankly, just proves that they don’t read theory at all).

Agreed, there's also some that fall into spaces that are more easily co-opted by feds like anarchist and ultra left circles that repeat western pejorative language and polemics seen exclusively from anti-communist sources like the radio free variety and spend all their time in critiques of AES and the like.

I think some of them are trying to find a moral high ground in pushing the both sides narrative. They erroneously find this position either through a grave misunderstanding of dialectical and historical materialism failing to understand that communism is a science for liberation and not a check list to be met. Or they're just feds or socdems.

It's disappointing to see these polemics replicating themselves but I don't think they get much traction overall. I think like Thomas Sankara said: "As revolutionaries, we don't have the right to say we are tired of explaining. We must never stop explaining. We know that when the people understand, they cannot help but follow us" aptly fits here. Through enough effort all those that actually care about liberation will eventually find the correct media literacy methods for sifting through all of the fed media.

This is a great point and a mistake I’ve made in the past. Thank you for writing this.
